What a House Manager Does for a Charlotte Family (+ How I Hold the Holidays)
If you live in Charlotte + you're the one carrying every appointment, every grocery order + every "did anybody call the plumber," I am talking directly to you.
When people hear "house manager," they picture one of two things, a big estate + a staff of twelve or someone coming in doing the cooking cleaning + all the chores. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Most of the Charlotte families I work with are regular busy high functioning households. Demanding jobs. Kids in different seasons of life. Sometimes no kids at all, but a busy lifestyle that needs grounding + support.
I've been running homes here since 2021, + I've been a doula since 2019. Same hands, different season. Doula work holds a family through a big transition. House management holds a family through every regular Tuesday + all the days between.
So what does a house manager actually do?
I am not your cleaner or your chef. I am the one who makes sure that the cleaner shows up, the pantry makes sense, the calendar works + nothing important is living only in your head.
Depending on your household, that can look like:
Household systems built around how your family actually lives
Calendar + family scheduling, including sibling logistics for school, activities + appointments
Managing the people who come through your door: cleaners, sitters, contractors + grocery delivery
Pantry + meal flow, laundry + linen rhythms
Vacation prep before you leave + a reset when you get home
Consignment + donation runs
It's a family support system that happens in your home here in Charlotte, + every system is built around your household. No two look the same.
Why the holidays are when you feel it most
Here's the thing. November + December don't add one more thing to your plate. They add like forty. Gifts for everybody on the list. A tree that has to come down from the attic. The party you said yes to hosting. Teacher gifts, travel, cards + the tip envelopes you forgot last year.
And it usually lands on one person. Truth Moment? If you found yourself reading this article, it's probably you.
Holiday help for Charlotte families
So this season I'm opening a small holiday roster. I shop + wrap the gifts (you see every pick first), dress your home for the season + take it all down in January, + run your hosting behind the scenes so you get to sit down at your own party.
Already one of my house manager families? Holiday support folds right into what we're already doing.
If you want the magic without the to-do list, everything lives on my Holiday House Manager page. It starts with 20 minutes.
This year, you get to enjoy it too.
